My Idea for the Episode 7-9 Trilogy

Okay so firstly let me say this is going to be long so buckle in fellas. I really really like this idea so I'm keen to see what other fellow fans might think of it.
So I'll start with Episode 7, now in the context of the trilogy we were given I would make a small change to the movie however with the changes I'll suggest for episodes 8 and 9 I'm happy to leave episode 7 as it is.

So episode 8.... well I think we can all agree this movie was bleh, and really it came down to three parts of the movie that failed (In my opinion), and unfortunately they just so happen to be part 1,2 and 3 of a 3 part movie...
(THIS PART BELOW HAS BEEN EDITED AND IS REFERRING TO THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE) Edit : Apologies for those whom I upset by saying this movie was bleh, I should've said that it was my opinion and not "we can all agree" so for that I apologize. I guess for me personally I have strong feelings against the movie because of how it handled Luke Skywalker who had always been one of my favourite fictional characters of all time. Also I'd like to add that I don't consider myself to be absolutely correct with any of my opinions or thoughts, this is a just a version of the story I had rolling around in my mind and thought I'd share it, kind of upsetting to see the backlash but oh well.
Firstly, the codebreaker storyline with Finn, yikes. Just an incredibly boring and pointless storyline, set out on a mission to find someone and then choose to bring some random stranger back instead..? The thing is when I first watched Rise of Skywalker I thought they were going to redeem this storyline because they mentioned something about a spy in the first order and I thought it was going to be the codebreaker guy and that was why he betrayed them, so he could help them later. Of course this did not end up being the case, and in my opinion the codebreaker storyline should've been scrapped.
Secondly, Po's story with Holdo... I mean again this just felt so pointless and so fabricated, as if the only reason the story existed was because they wanted to give Po's character something to do. I wouldn't mind a storyline with internal conflict but this one was just done so poorly. I would've combined Fin and Po's story line together rather than giving them each one that way I can add a new storyline that I'll explain shortly. I'm not exactly sure what story I would've given them but either a codebreaker story or inner conflict would be fine, just done better than the original storylines.
Thirdly and most importantly... Luke. When I say Luke, I mean Luke. I don't mean Luke Skywalker because I refuse to acknowledge the character we saw as Luke Skywalker. Now Luke didn't really have a story he was just part of Rey's, and that's where I think they really screwed up. I'm happy to leave Rey's storyline with Luke exactly as it is but only with the addition of another storyline. The thing is when you have a character like this where we haven't seen them for like 30-40 years within the context of the story you have 3 different options. 1) Have the character be exactly like before and not need to explain anything, 2) Have that character be different but explain how and why and 3) Have the character be different but explain nothing. Unfortunately they went with option 3 which was a colossal mistake in my opinion. Some people might say the flashback we got was the explenation but that is absolute horseshit and here's why. At the end of Return of the Jedi Luke engages with Darth Vader, the symbol of the empire, the symbol of fear, hate, death and evil in the universe and yet he was able to see the good within him. The very very next thing we see of Luke's life is him contemplating murdering a child because he saw evil within them....?? On one hand you have someone seeing the good within the most evil being in the universe and then the other you've got someone seeing the evil within an innocent child (who by the way was his nephew). So really in order for this flashback to have happened it means Luke had already changed (drastically), so the only purpose it served was for Ben's character, for Luke's character it was utterly meaningless to me.
So the third storyline I would've added is a storyline focused on Luke. A dedicated flashback storyline of Lukes life. I would've had him re open the first Jedi temple and I would've had him had a wife and a son (Lets call him Kyle), and I would've had him have 9 other padawans for a total of 10. I would've had a scene where ghost Yoda comes and talks to Luke and explains everything that happened in the prequels and how Palpatine rose to power and how it was primarily the Jedi's fault due to their arrogance and ignorance and most importantly their fear and opressiveness when it came to the dark side of the force. Had Anakin been tought about the dark side of the force he could've been able to resist it once he came into contact with it however that was obviously not the case. Given this discussion it would make sense how Luke says to Rey that the force does not belong to the Jedi. Anyways I would've had him teach his Padawans about the dark side of the force, not how to use it or anything but just give them the awareness and knowledge of it. One particular student (Kora) who was similar age to Kyle and was best friends with him would've grasped the dark side very very strongly. One day he accidently discovers a new type of power we've not seen before, instead of lightning he uses fire, and he accidently burns an animal to an absolute crisp charcoaled to hell. Luke senses something has happened and intends to confront Kora about it however before he gets the chance Kora comes to Luke and tells/shows him what happened, this came as a huge relief to Luke knowing it truly was accidental and so he didn't make a big deal out of it and still had trust in Kora. Further on down the track I would've had a scene with Kyle and Kora sparring (with Luke and the other padawans watching), and when being pushed to his limit Kora accidently uses fire again. Luke immediately intervenes and barrates him in front of everyone forbidding him to ever use any dark side of the force ever again and even grounds/punnishes him. A wile later Luke senses an awakening in the force, a new padawan who had come of age and was ready to bet rained as a Jedi and so he leaves the temple to go and find them and offer them the chance of becoming a Jedi. The force normaly awakens withing a child at the age of lets say 7-8 or something, to Lukes surprise this child was only 2 years old meaning he was very strong. But to his even greater surprise, this boys name was Ben Skywalker. The reason I would've had this is purely so we could get a reunion between Luke Han and Leia, something I so desperately wish we could've had because it just would've been so beautiful to see those awesome characters together again. Of course Ben only being 2 meant he wasn't really ready to train so Luke promised he'd return when Ben got a bit older, and as he's preparing to leave and go back home he senses a catastrophic disturbance in the force eminating from the temple and so he rushes back immediately. Upon arrival he finds 8 of his padawans outside the temple all dead, all burnt to an asbolute crisp to the point he couldn't even recognize who was who. Upon venturing into the temple he finds his wife and Kyle also dead and also burnt to a crisp, and he desperately searches trying to find Kora's body in the hopes that it was an accident however he never found him. Luke then chooses to put aside his title as a Jedi and goes out on a quest for vengeance having felt so guilty and responsible for what happened. He spends years searching for Kora desperately using the force to try find him but no matter how hard he tried he could never sense him, and as he continued his search he found village after village burnt to a crisp. After years of this he finally gives up, and by this point he doesn't want to be a Jedi nor does he want to train anyone however he made a promise and so he goes to get Ben and begin his training. This storyline would've done two crucial things, firstly it would explain why Luke had become so terrified of the dark side of the force much like the Jedi order before him explaining why he did what he did with Ben. Even more importantly however it would perfectly explain the title of the movie and why Luke believed the Jedi must come to an end. He knows from Yoda that when the Jedi represses all teachings and knowledge of the dark side of the force it led to their destruction, and now he's seen that even when they don't repress the dark side of the force they were still destroyed and so he would truly believe the Jedi are doomed to fail no matter what explaining why the movie was called "The Last Jedi". Finally, at the end of the movie with the reunion of Luke and Leia I would've had Leia say something to Luke that we don't get to hear, however we see Luke have an extremely surprised reaction. So that's what I'd change with the Last Jedi.

Now moving into episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker, this is where things get really fun :DI would've once again had a flashback storyline that would be told in 3 parts over the course of the movie. The first part would actually be the exact same storyline from The Last Jedi however instead of being told from Luke's perspective it would be told from Palpatines. It begins with Palpatine sensing an extremely powerful user of the dark side of the force, and this was a HUGE deal to Palpatine. The reason Palpatine went into hiding instead of just restarting the empire immediately was because he acknowledged that with his injuries and old age he simply couldn't handle Luke, and so he spent all thsi time hiding away desperately searching for a worth apprentice so that he could face and defeat Luke. Of course as I said Palpatine can't face Luke so he waits patiently for his chance, and finally he senses an awakening in the force (Bens) and he knows Luke will go to collect him and so he makes his move. Its important to note that Palpatine knows this was an all or nothing gamble, because he'd be showing his hand to Luke and he fails to acquire a new apprentice Luke will simply seek him out and destroy him so he absolutely needed to get his apprentice otherwise he's doomed. He makes his way to the temple with a fleet of course, 8 of the padawan put up a fight as best they can however they're all captured and detained. Lukes wife (who Im not sure if I'd give her force powers or not but doesn't really matter to me), Kyle and Kora are the only one remaining. Kyle and Kora are the strongest of the lot and they fight with Palpatines head guards putting up quite a fight. In their battle Kora uses his fire power which of course makes Palpatine even more excited to get him as his new apprentice, but one of the other Padawan who had been captured yelled out to him saying "Master Luke forbade you from ever using that again its not worth it!!". And so Kora takes a look around at his fellow padawan and his best friend Kyle and offers himself willinginly to Palpatine if he spares everyone else. Palpatine being unsure if his guards can beat Kyle and Kora accepts. As Kora is leaving he makes a catastrophic mistake, he turns back to Kyle and says something to the effect of "Tell your dad im sorry" or "Tell your dad I'll be okay", at which point Palpatine realizes they were the son and wife of Luke Skywalker, the very same Luke Skywalker who defeeated him and destroyed decades of his work. Seeing such an opportuniy for vengeance he immediately lashes out killing Lukes wife, he turns and launches an attack aiming to kill Kyle only for it to be blocked by Kora who dies to protect Kyle. Of course Palpatines plan has now failed and he's outraged. In a moment of fear and panic he looks around to see the burnt corpses of his guards whom Kora attacked and he sees a way out of this mess. He orders his soldiers to kill the remaining 8 padawan and get flamethrowers off the ship and burn the temple and the bodies to the point they couldn't be identified. He and his fleet then return to their home base, however he sends one of his ships to go to nearby planets and burn random villages here and there to keep Luke distracted. This is why Luke never sensed Kora, he was already dead. And he couldn't sense Kyle because he never even tried, it never occured to him as a possibility. This would be the end of part 1 of the flashback
Part 2: We'd start back at Palpatines base with him trying to turn Kyle however he had been trained by Luke for too long and much like his father before him he was able to resist. Palpatine then decides to simply kill him and as he is about to give the order to do so one of his guards comes bursting in saying "Laura (Palpatines daughter) has been involved in an accident and is badly injured!" And then.... Palpatine sees an opportunity unlike anything he could've ever imagined, a chance to create the most powerful force user of all time by combining the bloodlines of the Skywalker and Palpatine families. Laura is a few years younger than Kyle so she hadn't yet begun training and was still a good person, and now with Palpatines new plan he has no need to train her at all. Much like he did in Last Jedi with Rey and Ben he connects Laura and Kyle through the force. Over time she even begins to sneak around to see him in prison, of course Palpatine is aware of this and is allowing it. As the two of them become closer she begins to despise Palpatine knowing the truth of him from Kyle. After years of this when the two of them are of age to have a child, one night Palpatine implants a tracker into Laura as she is sleeping capable of finding her wherever she was in the universe. He then fakes himself declining in health due to old age and after a wile he fakes his own death, once he does so Laura is named the new emperor. She immediately disbands the empire and releases Kyle from prison and leaves the planet with him. Shortly after they leave all the ships that were ordered to disband return and Palpatine reveals to the audience he is still allive and it was all just a trick. That would be the end of Part 2
Part 3: We'd begin with Kyle and Laura arriving at the temple to find it completely abandoned, Kyle desperately searches through the force for Luke but by this point he had disconnected himself and so Kyle couldnt find him. Kyle then finds Han and of course Han knew everything that happened from Luke so he was shocked, Kyle tells him the truth of what really happened and because they believed Palpatine to truly be dead it would explain why he was of no concern in episodes 7 or 8. By this point Laura is pregnant and there could've been a question of baby names or something and they'd say if its a boy, Riley and if its a girl Rey. This is the part I was refering to earlier about Episode 7. In episode 7 Han asks Rey for her name and only after learning it offers her a job, more importantly Maz then asks Han Whos the girl? After which the camera cuts away, now to me that is a very very strong implication that Han has an answer to that question because if he didn't there'd be no need to cut away. In the context of the story that was told it doesn't make sense that Han knows anything about who she is, however with these changes it does. And even more fitting, when Maz asks whos the girl, the camera cuts to Rey finding Lukes lightsaber which would be a perfect perfect hint within the context of my story. Anyways as they are meeting elsewhere in the universe there is also a meeting with Luke and Leia, where Luke informs her that Ben had turned to the dark side of the force and that due to his failure he has decided to go into exile and so he leaves R2 with her and heads off, as his ship jumps into hyperspace Hans ship arrives. He learns of what happened with Ben and also informs Leia about Kyle, she tries desperately to find Luke to let him know but she couldn't, further on down the track a resistance member or potentially even Han or Leia finds Kyle and Laura both dead. Back to Episode 8 this is what Leia told Luke, everything that really happened and that Rey was his grand daughter. This would once again explain a few things, firstly how Luke was now willing to fight and die for the sake of the resistance (and his granddaughter) but even more importantly it would explain why Luke now believed the Jedi didn't need to come to an end and why he said he wouldn't be the last Jedi. He spent all this time thinking the Jedi failed but they didn't. Kora used the dark side of the force but never became evil, Luke would realize that even though they all died he didn't actually fail as a teacher and that the Jedi weren't doomed to fail, which is something Luke deserved to know before dying. Anyways, Rey is then born and as we said earlier normally the force awakens around 6-7 for ben he was only 2-3, but Rey... The second she was born, Palpatine felt an awakening in the force unlike anything he'd ever experienced before and he knew his grandchild had been born and he sends out everyone he has to claim his prize. Upon being chased by countless ships Kyle and Laura realize Palpatine was still allive and that this was all a trick so that Palpatine could acquite someone not only powerful in the force but more importantly someone young enough to be manipulated and molded as he wished. They spend years being chased going from planet to planet, until finaly Kyle and Laura acknowledge that in order for Rey to be safe they have to do 3 things. 1)They have to supress her powers in the force, as in to put her awakened powers back to sleep I guess, this would also add further meaning to the title of episode 7 "The Force Awakens" because it really was put to sleep (of course the title still works as it is but this just adds to it). 2) They have to seperate themselves from her, they don't know how but they know that one or both of them are being tracked, and more importantly they know that Rey isn't. 3) They have to remove her memories of them either using tech or the force, by this point she's 5-6 years old and has memories of her parents and she knows who she is, she knows shes a Skywalker and a Palpatine (she doesn't appreciate or understand the true importance of that but she knows it nonethlesss) and so long as she has that knowledge she may one day go out to try find her parents again which would obviously put her in a lot of danger. So they do these 3 things and then leave her on Jakku, shortly after they are completely surrounded by Palpatines forces and has already been established en episode 7 it is possible to extract thoughts using the force so they know in order to keep Rey safe they have to kill themselves and so they do which would be the end of the flashback story.
I feel like this could've added so much to Rey's character and made the story so much more interesting because she would've actually had a choice to make, she could choose to be a Palpatine or a Skywalker and of course she would choose Skywalker which by the way would be a PERFECT explanation for the title of the move "The Rise of Skywalker" rather than th explanation we were given at the end which kind of felt weird and undeserved for me personally. It would also explain why she was so dam powerful even though she had such little training.
Also one little thing I would've changed/added is the scene where she faces Palpatine and he says that he was all of the Sith, instead of what they did in the movie (which was great but I think this would be better) I would've had a group of force ghosts appear behind her comprised of Anakin, Obiwan, Quigon, Yoda, Luke, Leia, Kyle and Laura. I would've had all of them be behind her and begin to kind of converge into her with the last two being Kyle and Laura, and unlike the rest before they converge into her they place a hand on her shoulders and as they do all her memories of them were restored and in that moment she would realize she wasn't unwanted or abandoned like she spent her whole life believing, she was loved, cared for and valued above everything and that realization would give anyone a huge rush of power no doubt. This realization coupled with her opening her eyes and potentially a tear or two coming out whilst exclaiming that she was all of the jedi could've made for a seriously amazing scene in my opinion.

Woof that's quite a long read so if you've made it here I sincerely thank you! I've always had such a love for Star Wars and I really really love this idea and I'm excited to see what my fellow fans think of this so please do share your thoughts because I'd love to hear them!

LAW, TWILIGHT ZONE) and superstar artist Jerry Ordway (All-Star Squadron, Crisis on Infinite Earths) to tell a story of Marvel’s debut superstar: Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner. It’s 1946, and the boys are back from World War II. But they haven’t left the battlefields behind, as reporter Betty Dean discovers when she and Namor reunite for an outing at Palisades Park, only to find themselves under attack. Also featuring the All-Winners Squad. A dramatic, unexpected and revealing tour through the Marvel Universe by a cornucopia of amazing creators.
